Product Regrets

It's not very often that I regret buying products to do with makeup and beauty, because I like to research before investing in most products. However, over the last year there is a few regrets that are currently sat in my draws never to be used again.

The first product that has to be the biggest regret is definitely the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, I wanted to love this product so much, but after about 6 months of using it, I have now come to the conclusion that my skin really does not agree with this cleanser.  I have always suffered with bad skin since I was in school, but recently I have accumulated a fair few groups of sore acne on my cheeks.  The only thing I could put this down to was the cocoa butter clogging up my pores, and the fact that this is a balm that you are just wiping off you're skin, and smearing makeup round you're face.  Secondly, this cleanser always left my skin feeling tight and extremely dehydrated, taking a hell of a lot of moisturiser to rehydrate my skin.  For a lot of people this Cleanser would be perfect, it's just not for those with dryer or sensitive skin like myself.

Another product that I was highly disappointed by was the L'oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer.  I am a real sucker for a dupe, and after reading such good reviews about this being similar to the strobe cream by MAC I knew I needed to purchase it ASAP! But to my disappointment, again I found it drying on the skin and by the end of the day my makeup was so patchy and cakey.  I also found that this product is only illuminating with a BB cream, and is not noticeable in the slightest under a medium coverage foundation like the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, even when mixed into the foundation itself.

Staying on the topic of make-up base another product that was a regret is the L'oreal Infallible Foundation.  Again for someone with very sensitive skin this foundation was not the way forward. After using this product for one day my skin had flared up in eczema both above my lip and under my left eye. I was so disappointed when my skin increased with spots as I had heard so many good things about this foundation, after so much research I still can't find what ingredient is causing me this problem with this foundation, meaning that it needed to be added to the draw of product regrets.

And lastly, so I don't bore you all! My last product regret is the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara. I don't think there is a single thing that I like about this product at all, which is a first for me ! The formula in my opinion does not hold your brows in place at all its almost like wiping water on your brows.  And secondly, the brush is so impractical as it is round and does not seem to pick up enough product, but also it is very chunky, so I find that I can't be as precise as I would like to be.

Sorry to be posting such a negative post, however I find these posts really do help me when I am purchasing new products.  This post is in no way me trying to tell you what you should and shouldn't buy, it is just my personal opinion and experience that I have had with these products, and I understand that different products react totally different depending on the individual.

I hope you enjoyed reading!
