Daily Haircare Routine

From the moment that an inexperienced hairdresser cut my elbow length hair up to my shoulders, my hair has become everything to me (I think most girls can relate to this).  For a long time, I switched and changed the colour of my hair to keep up with the trends of the seasons.  This meant that I had to seriously look after the quality of it, meaning that I have learnt a hell of a lot of tricks to keep my hair in the condition that it needs to be.

To all the girls that want to know the secret to growing your hair quicker, there quite simply isn’t one. I’m not saying I am an expert on all things hair, but over the last 5 years my hairdresser has really taught me a lot.  The only way you are going to get your hair to grow is simply keeping the condition of your hair the best that you can and I’m going to share what products I think work best for me (Obviously I understand different products work for different people).  But before I share these, if you’re going to take anything from this post then it has to be, don’t be afraid to get your hair cut regularly (around every 8 weeks).  This is what is going to stop those split ends breaking and making your hair look like it isn’t growing.

So first let’s start off with basics, a good quality shampoo is what’s going to kick start that routine and give your hair a good foundation.  9 times out of 10, I will use the Toni and Guy for Damaged hair range.  However, changing up what you use is a good thing, so I like to swap to the TRESemme  Rich Luxurious Moisture shampoo and conditioner as your hair can become used to products and, not have the effect that they should.

Aftercare is everything for you're hair and oils and serums are what will do the trick.  I generally only ever reach for Argan Oil to massage into my hair, I have tried every brand there is and they are really all the same, so I just go for one that costs me a couple of pounds.  I pop this on once I've washed my hair and then just brush it through my hair, to make sure that it is evenly distributed.  I then blow-dry my hair and style it and pop another small amount into the palm of my hand, and smooth through the ends of my hair to control any flyway's.

However, before I even contemplate blow-drying my hair I make sure that I have a heat protectant on.  I usually reach for the TRESemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray, this is perfect for those that struggle with frizz like myself as this works a treat.  I would recommend that everyone that is using heat on their hair uses a protection spray, especially if you have coloured or bleached your hair, as this is what is going to prevent you're hair from getting additional split ends.

For my daily routine that is everything I do to my hair; simply but effective.  One thing I will say is that I DO NOT wash my hair everyday, most of the time I will wash it every other day and this is the routine I follow on those days.  For a quick tip on those days I don't wash my hair I use the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral, this stuff really is a life saver.  It refreshes your hair to the point you feel like you've actually washed your hair, due to the amazing fresh smell of this product.
